God's Immeasurable Love

  2. Title: God's Immeasurable LoveConclusion:

From the scriptures we see how much God loves us and proves it to us by his actions.  However, until we personally understand and accept by faith how much God loves us and wants to be a true Father to us, it will be a struggle for us to become a partaker of His divine nature and receive our inheritance in Christ Jesus.
  1. Text:  I Jn 3:1 Behold what manner of love the Father has bestowed on us, that we should be called children of God! Therefore the world does not know us, because it did not know Him. (NKJ)
  1. Theme:  God wants mankind to know He loves them and His love should not be taken lightly.
  1. Why is God so interested in mankind? What can we possibly be to him?
  1. If God loves man so much why is the world full of so much violence and tragedy?
  1. How much does God love me?
  1. Body:
    1. Why is God so interested in mankind? What can we possibly be to him?
  1. God created man in his own image.

Gen 1:26-27
26    Then God said, "Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness; let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over the cattle, over all the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth."
27    So God created man in His own image; in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them.  (NKJ)

  1. God made man to have fellowship with Him.

        Ps 8:4
4    What is man that You are mindful of him, and the son of man that You visit him?  (NKJ)

  1. God made man a little lower than Himself.

Ps 8:5
5    For You have made him a little lower than *the angels, and You have crowned him with glory and honor.  (NKJ)

*Strongs 430 'elohiym (el-o-heem');

plural of 433; gods in the ordinary sense; but specifically used (in the plural thus, especially with the article) of the supreme God; occasionally applied by way of deference to magistrates; and sometimes as a superlative:

KJV-- angels, X exceeding, God (gods)- dess, -ly), X (very) great, judges, X mighty.

  1. God made man to be a Co-worker with Him.

    Ps 8:6
6    You have made him to have dominion over the works of Your hands; you have put all things under his feet,  (NKJ)

    1. God is love and love needs an avenue of expression, therefore, God wanted a family, He did not need a family but He did desire to have one. Having a family allowed God to express his love by giving to man.

I Jn 4:8 He who does not love does not know God, for God is love. (NKJ)

    1. If God loves man so much why is the world full of so much violence and tragedy?
  1. God and mankind have an adversary called Satan.

John 10:10    "The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly. (NKJ)

  1. Sin and man's rebellion against God cause much of the problems in the earth today.

Rom 6:23    For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord. (NKJ)

  1. Many people suffer tragedies and consequences of their actions due to lack of knowledge!

Hosea 4:6    My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge. Because you have rejected knowledge, I also will reject you from being priest for Me; because you have forgotten the law of your God, I also will forget your children. (NKJ)

    1. How much does God Love you?
  1. God gave you the life you are living, and the breath you breathe, and the food you eat.

Gen 2:7    And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living being. (NKJ)

  1. God loves you more than you can possibly think or imagine!

John 3:16 "For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. (NKJ)

  1. God wants to provide your every need just like a Father, He wants to be your Father.

Matt 7:11    "If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father who is in heaven give good things to those who ask Him! (NKJ)

  1. God wants the best for you.

3 Jn 1:2 Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be in health, just as your soul prospers. (NKJ)
